This is so much fun. I wake up every morning so excited. Adventures to be had with my boys, art to create, and fun things to plan for our community! And once and a while I catch a "bug." Something I become slightly obsessed with photographing or creating. I have no idea why. But I like it. It definitely keeps things churning. For a while it was a red balloon. Then a rainbow umbrella. Then fog. What I love most about these "bugs" is that after I have the idea, I go out and shoot them - and then I sort of keep them in my pocket. So I can always revisit them later. It just makes the day even more exciting to think of all of the ideas I have piled up that I can come back to anytime I feel like it! They just keep building up on one-another... which is what I think is happening right now.
This weekend, I caught the bug to pull out my big girl camera (a Canon 6D) and do some long exposure city shots. I had so much fun shooting with my friends Waqar and Rita in the rain on Friday night that I took my husband out the next night for more! Our kids were gone this weekend for a weekend of "fall fun" at their grandparents' home. So after a wonderful dinner at my favorite restaurant Bar La Grassa, we headed down to the shores of the Mississippi for an adventure. There were some other photographers down there and it was so fun to have my husband witness how photography creates a bond with strangers!
Anyways - after I took these shots, I started to dream about creating more with this backdrop! Maybe some cool edits.. or maybe with some of those old "bugs" like dresses, hats, umbrellas, balloons, etc... Yippee!! Now, who wants to go shoot?!
