I am so excited that it is finally time to share this fabulous new Art of Edina Project!
Back in August I spent two full days photographing several wonderful outgoing “Edina Seniors.” Our goal was to show senior citizens in the way they’d like to be seen.. fun, artistic, full of life, laughter and humor!
We also wanted to draw attention to our two non-profit partners: the Edina Senior Center and Senior Community Services.
We had 12 different photoshoots. Each shoot had 1-4 models and was in a different location around the Twin Cities. We shot at a well known local mural, First Ave, the Harriet Bandshell, the Minnehaha Falls and more! 12 shoots in two days was a lot but I was very lucky to have the help of several volunteers from the Edina Senior Center and Senior Community Services.
The 12 photos are now on display at the Hilltop Restaurant. They will remain up through the holidays.
The photos are also part of a calendar. Shutterfly was so lovely to donate the calendars! 100 percent of the proceeds will go to our two non-profit partners.
Calendars can be purchased at the Hilltop Restaurant or at the Edina Senior Center.
Each page in the calendar includes a little background information about the “models.” This information was written by the models & I love what they had to say! It feels a bit like the Edina version of “Humans of New York.”
Thank you all for your support and please check out the photos at the Hilltop if you are in the Twin Cities!
