Name That Card - A Shop With History + Personality - A Milwaukee Family Bucket List Adventure

For my son’s 11th birthday party we visited the Milwaukee sports card collectible shop called Name That Card.

This shop is special for two reasons…

One - quantity.

This store has over 8 million sports cards. They’re stored in the owner’s home, off site storage units and some in the store. Probably one of the largest collections of cards in the city.

Two - personality.

When you meet the owner Rick D’Amore you instantly feel that you are meeting a Milwaukee legend.

He has a big heart and a big laugh. He welcomes everyone in to his store. You get the feeling some solitary patrons are there more for his companionship than his cards.

He is a storyteller. You can pick up any card in his shop and he will tell you about their great athletic feats. Then ask him about Brett Favre, Aaron Rodgers, even Elvis and the Godfather. He has a story (or three) about all of them.

He also is a singer and has performed many places including Festa Italiana for over 15 years.

He has a twinkle in his eye and a way with kids and the community. He knows how to capture the attention of young sports cards fans. He tells them stories of amazing athletes. He slides them a free card or two. He makes it an experience.

Visit Name That Card not just to find some rare collectible cards - but to meet a person who represents the very best of Milwaukee.
