The plain, brown, cardboard box that arrived gave no clue as to what was inside but I knew. Jill had put my name on "The List".  I'd been patient.  It was here at last! I carefully took it out of the box and opened it for the first time ..... It was beautiful.  It was joyful. It was creativity. I was so excited !!!

I live in a small town in New Hampshire with not a heck a lot going on and I knew the Rainbow Umbrella was quite a world traveler.  I wondered what could I show my visitor.... I decided to go to a few favorite spots; the beach and a nice trip to Nubble Lighthouse in Maine.

There was a crowd at Nubble Light the day we went and since I had no one to hold the Rainbow I began to explain to strangers what I was doing with it , what it meant , how it was traveling around the world to photographers so they could take pictures with it.  I asked if one of them could hold it for me while I took my shot.  They loved the story and all wanted a turn posing with the celebrity umbrella !!

I would like to thank Jill for allowing me to be part of this wonderful project and for her generosity in sharing her creative vision !
